Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operations of the plumbing/HVAC service department
- Manage, coach, develop, and hold accountable plumbing technicians and support staff
- Oversee service warehouse operations including inventory management, purchasing, truck stock, and material control
- Partner with dispatch and customer service teams to maximize scheduling efficiency and revenue opportunities
- Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and company operational standards
- Monitor fleet readiness, equipment availability, inventory levels, and technician efficiency
- Oversee departmental budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial performance
- Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally
- Work closely with leadership, sales, and marketing teams to help grow service demand and department profitability
- Implement technician training, coaching, and performance improvement plans
- Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
- Ensure proper licensing compliance and operational standards are consistently maintained
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of industry experience
- Strong understanding of residential plumbing service operations
- Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, safety standards, and industry best practices
- Experience managing service technicians and leading performance accountability
- Experience managing inventory, purchasing, warehouse operations, and fleet coordination
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills
- Valid driver’s license
Highly Preferred
- Journeymen Plumbing License
- Experience with performance-driven service organizations
- Experience leading high-volume plumbing service teams
- HVAC industry experience is a plus but not required
