What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervising Foreclosure / Bankruptcy Paralegal position at Handel & Carlini, LLP?
Seeking energetic paralegal who takes initiative and can supervise a foreclosure and bankruptcy department. Will handle primarily foreclosure and bankruptcy work in a growing law practice located in Poughkeepsie, New York. Professionalism, leadership, good writing and ability to multi-task are a must. Required to be extremely organized and detail-oriented.
Qualifications/ Required and/or Preferred Skills:
- Good interaction with staff members, clients, attorneys, clerks, and court.
- Meticulous calendaring of court and project deadlines;
- Ability to supervise staff and ensure that billing quotas are being met;
- Drafting legal documents including pleadings, discovery demands, orders and motions.
- Filing documents in court and electronically.
- Preparing files for court appearances, depositions and trials.
- Drafting correspondence and emails.
- Training department staff;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Mail, Drive, Docs and Calendar) required.
- Ability to learn and effectively apply new software as required.
A minimum of 5 years experience in foreclosure and bankruptcy required.
Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits including health and 401k provided.
