The Mentor Programs Administrator (bi-lingual Spanish/English) supports the implementation and ongoing development of HUN Mentor Client Programs. The purpose of the position is to ensure the goals of the organization are being effectively reached through mentor programs that are subject to ongoing evaluation and improvement, and supported by objective data that helps in assessment. The Programs Administrator will help support staff and volunteers to perform the organization’s Mentor programs.

Programs Administrator Duties:

  • Love those we seek to serve – “A Passion for Service”
  • Help facilitate Mentor Program services to Spanish-speaking clients and potential clients, through verbal and written translation.
  • Support Client mentorship and development of their Life Plan through collection and analysis of measurable data for quality assurance and through helping to monitor and assess the mentorship program and support training of volunteer mentors. Help ensure assessment, review and improvement of the Life Plan and client mentoring.
  • Contribute to Intake process and interviews – including conducting some Intake interviews and training volunteers to conduct interviews (if required) for the purpose of assessing suitability of potential clients for HUN mentor programs. Help assess, review and improve the Intake process.
  • Contribute to Introduction Program called SPARC (Sparking a Passion for A Renewed Calling) – conducting and presenting the program (if required), training others to present (if required), while helping review and support improvement of the SPARC program quality for participants who might become HUN clients.
  • Support Program Class and Workshop portfolio – including helping to assess and utilize partner agency programs in the community. Help monitor and develop opportunities for improvement and evaluate line-up of relevant classes and workshops.
  • Support partnership development and collaboration efforts in the Greater Tyler community as directed.
  • Comfortable working within Christian environment and philosophy

Possess excellent communication (oral and written) skills; bi-lingual Spanish/English; able to follow processes and required details; has good judgment; is a team player; is flexible and adaptive; contributes to planning; can train others; is a problem solver; able to be a coach and mentor others; good facilitator, can research and present ideas for consideration, meets computer skill levels required for job including Data-base input (Neon preferred).

Interpersonal Skills:

Respectful and sensitive of others; empathetic and caring; listens attentively and responds accordingly; maintains objectivity and refrains from emotionalism; handles conflict.

General Skills:

Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with co-workers. This would include, but is not limited to such actions: resolution of conflicts in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others’ property and person and professional and appropriate communication to and about co-workers, and subordinates.

Represent the program in the professional community and maintain working relationships with community resource personnel. Understand and be able to explain program, philosophy, goals and objectives.

Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

Understanding of sourcing and procurement methodologies

Excellent math, analytic, and problem-solving skills including problem identification, research, and resolution

Intermediate to Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Ability to learn in-house database and reporting systems

Capable of working under general direction and building momentum

Demonstrated efficiency in time management, organization, and recordkeeping skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35,568.00 per year
