Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid / Community-Based)
ABOUT HAND & HAND COACHING
Hand & Hand Coaching is a community-based youth development organization serving teens and young adults, with a focus on mentorship, life skills, and personal growth. We primarily support youth who have experienced foster care involvement, homelessness, or other life challenges. Our mission is to meet youth where they are and support them in becoming the best version of themselves.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Outreach Specialist supports the growth of Hand & Hand Coaching by increasing visibility, building strong community partnerships, and helping connect youth and families to our programs. This role plays a key part in expanding contracts, strengthening referral pipelines, and ensuring the community is aware of our services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, shelters, and local agencies
• Represent Hand & Hand Coaching at community events, meetings, and outreach activities
• Promote Hand & Hand programs to youth, families, and partner organizations
• Support youth recruitment and referrals into programs
• Assist with outreach for workshops, spotlight events, and new initiatives
• Follow up with community partners to maintain strong engagement
• Track outreach efforts and provide regular updates to leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree required in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Public Health, or a related field
• Experience in community outreach, youth services, nonprofit work, or social services
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Comfortable engaging with youth, families, and professionals
• Organized, self-motivated, and dependable
• Familiarity with Pittsburgh communities and systems is a plus
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
• Part-time (10–20 hours per week)
• Flexible schedule; some evenings or weekends may be required
