CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Registered Nurse (RN)
ADDITIONAL LICENSURE/CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: RN, OCN certified or certified within 18 months of date of hire. ONS Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Certified within 30 days of hire.
ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Annual Education: Confidentiality and HIPAA Corporate Compliance Fall Prevention PPD Campaign Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Safety & Security Minimum 2 years’ experience delivering chemotherapy and providing care coordination and education to cancer patients in an outpatient setting.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
· Assist ambulatory patients independently
· Install equipment weighing up to 10 lbs. (trapeze, traction) overhead in patient rooms
· Lift from floor to waist and shoulder equipment weighing up to 20 lbs. (examples: VAX, defibrillators, SCDs, CPMs)
· Manual dexterity, as used for performing intricate procedures (catheter, dressing changes, IV starts), assembling medical equipment, caring for patients, typing, etc.
· Assist bedfast patients of up to 50 lbs. independently and for weights greater than 50 lbs must use mechanical device or team lifting.
· Push and pull patients in beds and wheelchairs up to 250 lbs. in a wheeled device and for weights greater than 250 lbs must use team assistance.
· Push and pull wheeled equipment requiring a force up to 10 lbs. (feeding pumps, ventilators, IV poles, bipap machines)
· Push/pull carts, medical equipment, supplies up to 23 lbs. on varied surfaces including smooth and carpet
· Squatting and bending at waist to reach under beds, repetitive crouching as needed
· Standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling as needed more than 2/3 of day
· Transfer and ambulate patients up to 150 lbs. independently
· Transfer and ambulate patients with assistance greater than 150 lbs. to 300 lbs.
EQUIPMENT USED: Omnicell, IV pumps, infusion chairs, computer, telephone, multipurpose office machine.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Long periods of standing and walking, General medical office.
