At Hancock Lumber, we call this role a Counter Pro. This position serves as the first point of contact for contractors, builders, remodelers, homeowners, and other customers visiting the lumberyard or calling by phone. The role focuses on customer service, sales, order entry, product support, and helping customers find the materials they need to complete their projects. The successful candidate will develop product knowledge, build customer relationships, and work closely with yard, delivery, and sales teams to provide an exceptional experience.

What You'll Do
- Help contractors, builders, remodelers, and homeowners find the right products and solutions for their projects.
- Provide outstanding customer service in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.
- Create quotes, enter orders, process sales transactions, and assist with special orders.
- Learn product availability, inventory, pricing, and building material applications.
- Coordinate with yard, delivery, and sales teams to ensure materials are delivered accurately and on time.
- Recommend related products and services that help customers complete their projects successfully.
- Resolve routine customer concerns and partner with management on more complex issues.
- Maintain an organized, professional, and customer-ready sales environment.
- Assist with merchandising, stocking, inventory, and other location support activities as needed.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures while helping create a safe workplace for employees and customers.
