QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES
- Knows temperature danger zone for hot and cold foods
- Can properly clean and sanitize their work areas
- Knows proper procedure to label and dating open food items
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Dish machine washing pots & pans
- Assembling food for patients, delivering food to patients, knowledge of patient diets stocking areas, cleaning, serving customers in the cafe cleaning and cash register. Prepares all menu items using established departmental policies and procedures. Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
- Assures all menu items are prepared per established policies and procedures.
- Assists with the training of new employees.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Provides services to cafeteria customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Serves food in proper pre-determined portion sizes.
- Serves food that is the correct serving temperature and quality.
- Any substandard quality food must be brought to the attention of the food and nutrition manager and properly discarded.
- Sets up, maintains and breaks down salad bar.
- Receives deliveries when assigned.
- Cleans cafeteria including serving area continually.
- Maintains appearance of all equipment and serving counters.
EXPECTED BEHAVIORS:
- To provide optimal food quality and meal service to patients, associates and guests visiting our cafeteria.
- Able to demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality, ability to handle responsibility without supervision.
- Is AIDET w/Promise trained.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Complete yearly mandatory education.
- Customer service skills.
- Currently attending high school, high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but food service experience will be considered.
