Hancock County Circuit Clerk's Office – Full-Time Position
The Hancock County Circuit Clerk's Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Deputy Clerk / Bookkeeper. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to serve the public while performing a variety of clerical and financial tasks in a professional office environment.
Position Details:
Location: Hancock County Courthouse
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Full-Time | In-Office | Benefits Eligible
What You’ll Do:
Process and maintain court records and filings
Assist with courtroom duties and interact with attorneys, law enforcement, and the public
Manage daily financial transactions, including payments, deposits, and disbursements
Reconcile accounts and assist with reporting and audits
Ensure compliance with legal and financial procedures
What We’re Looking For:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft Office and basic accounting tools
Ability to manage confidential information
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Prior clerical and bookkeeping experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
- 2 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Ability to pass a background check
