About the Role
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial administration of multiple large, complex architectural design and planning projects and acting as a bridge between multiple internal and external groups. Responsibilities include project setup and maintenance, project billing, revenue recognition, consultant planning, budget tracking and analysis.
Job Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with the Marketing, Project Managers, and Project Admin teams, as well as our Clients and Consultants regarding contract documents, project setup, change orders and other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to project tracking
- Prepare draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup needed or requested by clients or project managers (lien waivers, AIA forms, specific invoicing templates)
- Research any unbilled issues to optimize the billing possibilities and timeliness within the billing period
- Follow up on outstanding client invoices
- Utilize project proposals to set up new projects within Deltek VantagePoint
- Utilize consultant proposals to set up and maintain project plan budgets
- Make transfer of employee billable hours and/or expenses; open, add, and close phases as needed
- Request Client information and Certificate of Insurance as needed
- Update Revenue Forecast monthly in Deltek VantagePoint, assist project managers with updating the percent complete to be billed

Review project documents to research variances and issues
- Review and analyze project financial reports to ensure accuracy
- Assist accountant with consultant invoice and project plan budget discrepancies
- Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency of the accounting team
- Perform Ad Hoc analyses
