Compensation

  • $18.00 per hour

Work Schedule

  • School Year (September – June): Monday–Friday, shifts between 1:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m
  • Summer (July – August): Monday–Friday, shifts between 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m
  • Hours may vary depending on program needs, events, or holidays

Position Overview

The Group Worker will provide supervision and support for after-school and summer programming at PS330Q. This role involves assisting Group Leaders in implementing enrichment activities such as homework help, arts & crafts, sports, health and fitness, nutrition, dance, and STEM education. The Group Worker will ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for youth participants.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise participants to ensure their health, safety, and well-being
  • Assist Group Leaders in planning and facilitating program activities
  • Provide support with homework help, tutoring, and enrichment activities
  • Maintain program documentation (attendance, sign-in/out sheets, incident reports)
  • Support the collection of participant and parent surveys
  • Help maintain equipment, supplies, and program space
  • Actively participate in trainings, meetings, and special events
  • Report to the Program Director for delegated tasks and guidance

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required (proof must be provided during hiring)
  • Prior experience in youth development strongly preferred
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to working with children and families
  • Ability to work cooperatively with peers and professional staff
  • Must successfully complete OCFS/PETS background clearance
  • Must provide a recent medical exam including proof of PPD test at hire
