What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supplier Quality Engineer position at Hana Technologies, Inc.?
The Supplier Quality Engineer will assist in operations to ensure the stable operation and compliance of HTI’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and any other relevant QMS standard. This includes educating, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline (preferably Industrial or Mechanical Engineering).
- Quality Management System experience.
- Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with WinSPC, Minitab, Visio software, or equivalent software.
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools desired.
Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as Supplier Quality Expert. Act as single point contact for all Supplier quality issues. Provide direction and make decisions based on supplier quality requirements.
- Assure Supplier understanding and compliance with product quality requirements.
- Visit/audit Suppliers and potential Suppliers, prepare reports and ensure follow up to required actions.
- Work with Suppliers to develop containment, identify root cause, and implement corrective actions as applicable.
- Work with Incoming Quality Control and Global Supply Chain, including coordination to return product to Supplier when required.
- Host on-site Supplier visits as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, reacting to, and reporting on supplier quality metrics.
- Ensures critical information is documented and communicated to appropriate personnel.
- Understand and apply problem solving techniques, develop plans, issue CAR’s/SCAR’s, monitors, documents and confirm completion.
- Develop, enhance, and ensure that training on applicable Quality policies, procedures, requirements and objectives are accurate, understood and followed; provide Quality training as needed.
- Supports continual improvement activities to enhance the QMS, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
- Drive action based on information, up to and including stopping production or shipments, if the situation warrants. Communicates appropriately.

- Experience with IATF 16949 preferred
