Location: Remote, with weekly on-site client meetings in the DC Metro area

Security Clearance: Active U.S. security clearance (Secret or above)

Position Overview: We are seeking a Product Manager that will lead the design, research and execution efforts in our subsidiary, Hana Defense Solutions (HDS) under the Native Hawaiian nonprofit corporation, The Hana Group. From strategic vision to tactical implementation, we deliver adaptable, mission-centered, solutions that help government and defense clients achieve lasting impact. Our team supports the mission-critical efforts of the Department of War (DoW) and federal clients utilizing human-centered design, technology and co-development. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading the product through its entire lifecycle and will require a strong sense of leadership and decision-making authority. This role integrates product management discipline with mission-focused delivery, translating client objectives into actionable plans that achieve measurable outcomes for the warfighter and government stakeholders.

Position Description & Core Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring continuous alignment between deliverables and mission needs.

• Facilitate communication between client leadership, internal team members, and partner organizations to ensure objectives and expectations are clearly defined and managed

• Lead the full product lifecycle: define vision, gather and prioritize requirements, oversee development, and ensure successful delivery and adoption

• Drive product strategy utilizing elements of human-centered design

• Manage product scope, performance, budget, and risk across multiple engagements

• Ensure on time client delivery on all deliverables, wireframes, communications and any other products

• Develop deliverables that meet DoW standards and security requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Human-Centered Design, or related field

• 7 years experience working with DoW, federal clients or other mission-critical organizations

• Skilled in the development and implementation of product/program strategy and tactics

• Experience in client delivery, specifically in Human Centered Design focused projects in challenging environments

• Working knowledge of User Experience and User Research

• Experience in writing user stories and managing product backlogs

• Experience using Adobe and other design tools

• Proven skills in client engagement, communication, and organizational leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of government contracting, performance management, and budget execution.

• Experience working with and managing work from multi-disciplinary teams

• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence and Figma

• Background in business development and expansion
