Design Strategist (DC Metro area)
About the Opportunity:
The Hana Group is actively seeking a Design Strategist to join our dynamic team, where we work directly with clients to solution through their biggest challenges. You will be responsible for gathering and organizing different types of data and information from a myriad of sources and helping to translate it into clear findings that help create viable, enduring solutions. You will use charts, diagrams, collaboration tools, wireframes and infographics to guide our clients through our process, the Hana Way. It is more than conveying complex information, it is using it to empower better decision making.

Responsibilities:
- Work across a multidisciplined team to help identify client challenges and support building appropriate solutions using visual, interactive, and strategy-based products
- Take detailed notes during client meetings and support the quick turn of collaborative drafts
- Be comfortable speaking with other creative, strategy, and management team members about desired outcomes and products that drive to client success
- Leverage varied design methodologies to attack problems at their core
- Draft and produce diagrams, charts, infographics, and other products for print, digital, and web
- Help build information hierarchies and frameworks that drive understanding and a positive user experience
- Combine quantitative data and qualitative information to develop well rounded solutions that facilitate understanding
- Leverage branding to ensure consistency
- Be comfortable with asking for and taking different types of feedback from team members and clients to iterate on deliverables
- Identify education opportunities and proactively request material and training required to grow
- Be a positive teammate, both on client site and within our team
Work Schedule:
· Full time, 40 hours per week
· Some travel required to attend conferences and business events
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Design, Graphic Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors, Digital Media or a related field
- 4 years of experience in human centered design or a related role
- High level of familiarity with Adobe suite, Microsoft products required
- Familiarity with web development and building information hierarchies from scratch preferred
- Comfortable with multitasking and strict deadlines
- Secret Clearance required. Top Secret clearance preferred
- Familiarity with data management and turning data into useful information for clients
- Experience across one or multiple design areas (e.g., experience design, brand, information design, graphic design) to help build the best solutions for each project
- Highly motivated to solve problems, pitch in, and unravel complexity
