Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for dogs while ensuring their well-being and happiness throughout their stay. You will interact with both the dogs and coworkers, creating a welcoming atmosphere that promotes trust and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with dogs in playgroups to ensure safe interactions and positive behavior.
- Prevent conflict with other dogs, including barking, fighting, or growling.
- Intervene quickly and appropriately to redirect or separate dogs when needed
- Monitor the health and behavior of all dogs in your care, reporting any concerns to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the daycare facility, including kennels, play areas, and equipment.
- Cleaning up dog messes, such as urine and feces.
- Handling dogs of all sizes and walking them throughout the facility.
- Assist with feeding, administering medications, and providing fresh water at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's activities and needs.
- Giving dogs baths, nail trims, etc. This may include lifting larger dogs.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks such as moving large bags of dog food or lifting a dog into the bath tub.
- Working as a team and assisting coworkers wherever needed.
Skills
- Attention to detail is of upmost importance
- Experience in a dog daycare, kennel, veterinary, or similar animal care setting preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks as required by the role
- Comfortable working in a loud, active, and sometimes unpredictable environment
- Physically able to stay on your feet all day and lift large dogs or heavy supplies as needed
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Strong communication skills with both animals and people
- Ability to work actively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds
- Must be able to follow instructions in a timely manner
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and responsible
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers
- Must be able to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments
- Must be able to tolerate outdoor work
- Must have reliable transportation
