Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $75,000–$80,000 annually (commensurate with experience) plus on-site housing
  • Bonus Eligible: Up to 10% annually based on performance

About the Role

Heartland Parks is seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager (GM) to lead operations at Glenwood Canyon Resort, a premier outdoor hospitality destination in the Colorado Rockies currently undergoing significant expansion.


This role requires a forward-thinking hospitality leader who can deliver exceptional guest experiences, develop and inspire staff, and ensure operational excellence, all while guiding the resort through its next phase of growth.

The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the resort—including RV sites, cabins, riverfront activities, weddings, corporate events, food & beverage outlets, and guest amenities—ensuring the property thrives as a destination for memorable mountain getaways.

We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and can balance day-to-day operations with long-term growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record in hospitality management, financial oversight, event leadership, and community engagement.


Key Attributes:

  • Strong financial management skills (budgeting, P&L oversight, forecasting)
  • Proven leadership in staff development and guest engagement
  • Experience managing expansions, renovations, or new amenity development
  • Expertise in weddings, events, and group sales
  • Creative, guest-first mindset with ability to drive ancillary revenue opportunities
  • Community-oriented with strong relationship-building skills

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and lead seasonal, year-round, and workamping staff.
  • Oversee scheduling, labor compliance, and team accountability.
  • Build a positive, growth-oriented workplace culture.

Guest Experience

  • Maintain facilities, amenities, and grounds to the highest quality standards.
  • Lead guest programming, recreation, and on-site events that enhance stays and generate revenue.
  • Support and oversee group sales for weddings, corporate events, and gatherings.
  • Develop partnerships within Glenwood Springs to expand offerings and elevate the resort’s local presence.
  • Actively engage with guests, resolve concerns, and drive satisfaction through surveys and feedback.

Business Operations & Growth

  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Manage expenses while maximizing revenue across all outlets.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects, expansions, and new developments.
  • Collaborate with ownership and corporate leadership on long-term strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and Heartland Parks standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in hospitality, resort, or campground management
  • Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
  • Experience with weddings, events, or group sales
  • Previous success managing expansions, renovations, or new amenity development strongly preferred
  • Outdoor hospitality or RV resort management experience required
  • Food & Beverage and guest programming background a plus
  • Proficiency with reservation systems, POS, payroll, and HR platforms
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Physical Requirements

This role requires an active presence on property:

  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
