What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strength & Conditioning Coach position at Hampton University?
To successfully and reliably plan, develop and implement innovative and outstanding conditioning programs the student-athletes at a very high level. Providing athletic performance training that is specific to the sport and coaches' requirements. Mentoring and developing student-athletes beyond the scope of their sports and collaborating with all staff members to ensure each team has sufficient and efficient training.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations in the weight room
- Create an efficient and effective workout exercise program for student-athletes
- Help athletes work through sports injuries
- Work with athletes on a one-on-one basis depending on their areas of weaknesses/needs
- Demonstrate proper lifting techniques to student-athletes
- Introduce different lifting techniques and exercises to student-athletes
- Teach athletes preventative and safety measures in the weight room
- Assist with other team’s workouts when and where needed
- Assist in other duties as assigned
Requirements
- NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa-SCCC Certification
- CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
- Experience in Collegiate Strength and Conditioning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Must be able to travel with the team
- Must work flexible, sometimes long hours during Football Pre-Season and Football Regular Season
Salary : $34,000 - $43,100
