About This Role
We are offering employment opportunities to those looking to work with children ages 16 months through 15 years old. We currently have 2 campuses, in Newport News and Hampton and are expanding the number of classrooms. We are offering immediate and continuous employment for afternoons from 8:00-5:30pm or 12:00-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Bilingual skills in any language is a plus.
What You'll Do
- Assistants to work with students ages 16 months through middle school daily from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and 12:00 pm to 5:30 pm
- Caring for and assisting with the education of children
- Ensuring the environment is prepared and safe
- Working with the lead teacher to create an effective learning environment for students
- Other duties depending on the specific level of the children served by the position
Requirements
Position requirements include:
- Ability to pass all state and federal background checks
- First Aid and CPR certification before beginning employment
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Experience working with children
- High level of integrity and commitment
- High level of reliability and work ethic

- These are year-round positions, that follow the academic calendar with winter break, spring break, etc. Benefits may include paid time off, professional development, 100% paid medical and dental insurance, 100% paid short and long-term disability, as well as retirement funds after 3 years for full-time employees. Hours vary depending upon position, currently between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm.
