Nurse Practitioner - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN - FNP)
Schedule: Weekend, On-call
Daily rate: $120 for on-call coverage and $240 for days when on-site
The Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is currently seeking an Autonomous Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to fill a unique and impactful role. This position is responsible for conducting weekend medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for individuals admitted for crisis stabilization, as well as providing on-call support for medical needs.

Who We Are
Since 1971, Hampton - Newport News Community Services Board has provided the highest quality of behavioral health services to residents of the cities of Hampton and Newport News, Virginia, offering a comprehensive array of programs for both children and adults living with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders.
H-NNCSB proudly opened the BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center in 2025, a state-of-the-art, 20,000 square foot facility designed to support individuals experiencing acute mental health crises across a range of programs, including Regional Crisis Stabilization. This program is a 16-bed, short-term stabilization unit serving adults (18 ) who are experiencing acute mental health or co-occurring substance use crises.
About the role
In this impactful role, you will conduct medical histories and physical exams (H&Ps) for patients admitted for crisis stabilization, ensuring each assessment is completed within 24 hours of admission. Your responsibilities include providing on-call medical support during weekends, with compensation set at $120 for on-call coverage and $240 for days you conduct on-site H&Ps.
