Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
- One year of clinical experience in a substance use disorder and/or correctional setting
- Must be eligible for Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) supervision approval in Virginia within 30 days of hire.
As a Jail-Based Therapist, You Will Provide Behavioral Health And Substance Use Services To Individuals Participating In The Hampton City Jail Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program. Working Closely With Correctional Staff, Medical Providers, And Community Partners, You Will
- Complete behavioral health and substance use assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and recovery-focused education.
- Maintain timely documentation and electronic health records.
- Coordinate discharge planning and connect individuals with community-based behavioral health, recovery, and reentry services.
- Collaborate with the H-NNCSB Re-entry Coordinator, jail staff, medical providers, and community partners to support continuity of care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and support medication-assisted treatment (MAT/MOUD) services as appropriate.
