Your role as a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor

As a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor at SEFP, you will be immersed in a rewarding role that supports non-pregnant, pregnant, and postpartum women diagnosed with substance use disorders. Our comprehensive residential program offers gender-specific treatment in a healthy, stable, and secure environment tailored to individual needs. You will employ a holistic approach to prevention, intervention, and support, fostering the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our residents and their families. In this dynamic position, you will facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, develop personalized treatment plans, and create a safe, nurturing atmosphere that encourages recovery. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will empower women to tackle substance use challenges and achieve lasting wellness, making a profound difference in their lives and our community.

What You Need To Be Successful

To excel as a Substance Use Disorder Residential Counselor at SEFP, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, alongside a minimum of one year of experience in a residential or clinical setting. Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles and gender-responsive treatment approaches is essential for providing effective support. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong communication and empathy, enabling them to connect with residents and foster trusting relationships.

Problem-solving skills are crucial for navigating the complexities of each individual's recovery journey. Knowledge And Skills Required For The Position Are

  • Bachelor's degree in human services, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling
  • One (1) year of experience working in a residential or clinical setting.

  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills with an ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Valid Driver's License.
