Your role as a Accounting Specialist - Property
The Full-Time Accounting Specialist - Property is a vital role within the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, ensuring accurate maintenance of accounting and financial transactions for entities such as Dresden and Smith Phoenix. This position is responsible for grant and manual billing, meticulously reconciling accounting transactions between Yardi and Great Plains. Timely and accurate preparation of monthly bank reconciliations and financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles is essential, as these documents are reviewed by the Controller before submission to the Budget, Finance, and Audit Committee. The Accounting Specialist will also be cross-trained in accounts payable functions, engaging with vendors to resolve issues and process payments. From managing accounting transactions related to Property Management programs to maintaining meticulous records, this role embodies excellence and integrity in accounting, fostering a collaborative team environment.

To thrive as a Full-Time Accounting Specialist - Property at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, complemented by either one year of related experience or three years of comprehensive accounting expertise.
