Core Responsibilities
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Hotel maintenance staff perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other hotel equipment to prevent breakdowns. They also respond to repair requests, troubleshoot issues, and perform corrective actions to restore functionality promptly.
Technical Repairs: Duties include repairing or replacing faulty equipment, maintaining mechanical systems like motors, pumps, ice machines, hot tubs, saunas, swimming pools, and emergency generators. Staff may also handle carpentry, painting, plastering, and general building upkeep.
Guest Service and Safety: Maintenance staff often address guest requests directly, ensuring comfort and safety. This includes fixing in-room issues, assisting guests with accessibility needs, and maintaining a safe environment throughout the property.
Inventory and Equipment Management: Staff organize maintenance supplies, request parts, and maintain records of repairs and preventive maintenance schedules. They ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.
Collaboration and Communication: Maintenance personnel work closely with housekeeping, front desk, and management to prioritize work orders, coordinate repairs, and support smooth hotel operations. Effective communication and customer service skills are essential.
