Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including cleaning, floor care, and sanitation efforts to ensure a spotless environment.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate housekeeping staff to promote efficiency, safety, and high-quality service delivery.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules, checklists, and operational procedures aligned with hotel standards.
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical handling protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and timely replenishment.
- Enforce hotel emergency procedures related to sanitation issues or safety incidents, ensuring staff are trained on protocols such as heavy lifting safety and manual handling techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial experience within hospitality settings.
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, floor care maintenance, and janitorial best practices.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation including vacuums, buffers, steam cleaners, etc.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely while adhering to SDS guidelines and chemical handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols related to sanitation hazards.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling tasks, and stand for extended periods.
- Previous experience managing housekeeping staff or janitorial teams in a hospitality environment is highly preferred.
