Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of floors through vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and other floor care procedures using specialized equipment
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or supplies to support housekeeping operations
- Restock supplies like linens, toiletries, and amenities to ensure guest rooms are fully prepared for new arrivals
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and accurately in case of incidents or safety concerns
- Ensure all custodial activities comply with sanitation standards and hotel housekeeping management policies
Skills
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles with strong janitorial background
- Expertise in floor cleaning, floor care, vacuuming, and the use of cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of chemical handling, safe use of cleaning agents, and familiarity with SDS guidelines
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and moving supplies or furniture
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with guests and team members
- Understanding of hotel emergency procedures and safety protocols to maintain a secure environment
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow cleaning checklists and sanitation standards consistently
