Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hotel management, guest services, and customer relations. This role is essential for ensuring smooth overnight operations, accurate financial reporting, and providing exceptional guest experiences during the night shift. Bilingual skills and experience with multi-line phone systems are highly valued to enhance guest interactions and communication efficiency. The Night Auditor will work primarily during nighttime hours, ensuring the hotel’s financial and administrative tasks are completed accurately while maintaining a welcoming environment for guests arriving or departing during the night.
Responsibilities
- Perform nightly audit procedures to verify and reconcile daily financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and reservations.
- Manage front desk operations during overnight hours, including check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries.
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing guest needs promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with proper phone etiquette to assist guests and coordinate with other hotel departments.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, prepare reports for management review, and ensure compliance with hotel policies.
- Assist with guest relations by resolving issues efficiently and courteously, fostering positive guest experiences.
- Ensure the safety and security of the hotel premises during overnight hours by monitoring surveillance systems and conducting regular patrols.
- Assist with additional operational or guest service duties as needed when the hotel is short-staffed, ensuring smooth operations and continued guest satisfaction.
- During slower seasons or low-occupancy periods, take on additional tasks and responsibilities beyond standard night audit duties to support overall hotel operations.
- Support hotel management in administrative tasks such as inventory management, scheduling, documentation, and other operational needs as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality management, front desk operations, or hotel management is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and hospitality excellence.
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
- Familiarity with night audit procedures, multi-line phone systems, and resort or hotel environments is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Knowledge of hospitality software systems or property management systems (PMS) is a plus.
- Flexibility to work overnight hours on a consistent schedule; previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
