What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at Hampton Inn in Columbia, MO?
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC filters, painting, caulking, and cosmetic repairs.
- Respond promptly to guest room repair requests and work orders, ensuring issues are resolved safely and efficiently with minimal impact to the guest experience.
- Inspect and maintain mechanical equipment (e.g., boilers, water heaters, pool equipment, laundry equipment) and report any needed major repairs to the Chief Engineer / Operations Manager.
- Assist with maintenance of the building exterior, grounds, parking lot, lighting, signage, and trash areas to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Support room preventive maintenance programs, including scheduled deep inspections and repairs of guestrooms and suites.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas, ensuring tools and supplies are accounted for and stored safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, use proper personal protective equipment, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents.
- Assist with vendor and contractor access and escort as needed, and communicate effectively about work being performed on property.
- Participate in property inspections and help ensure compliance with brand standards, life-safety, and other regulatory requirements.
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives.

QUALIFICATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in hotel, residential, or commercial maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner, often with limited supervision.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift; ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weights; long hours are sometimes required.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Team Player with the ability to communicate effectively with guests, peers, and leadership.
- Must maintain composure under pressure.
