Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join our team in overseeing daily restaurant operations. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including supervising staff and ensuring smooth shift transitions
- Oversee food preparation, food safety, and quality control to meet health standards and customer expectations
- Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs using systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee cash handling procedures
- Support staff training and development to enhance team performance and ensure compliance with hospitality standards
- Assist with staffing schedules, interviewing candidates, and onboarding new employees
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining areas in accordance with safety regulations
- Support management in budgeting, cost control, and operational planning for both casual dining and fine dining settings
- Participate in event planning such as banquets or catering services when required
- Lead by example in fostering a positive work environment focused on teamwork, leadership, and hospitality excellence
Skills
- Proven management experience within the food industry, including restaurant management or assistant manager roles
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams in fast-paced environments such as quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining establishments
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, culinary techniques, and food safety standards
- Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and inventory management
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns effectively
- Experience with food handling, kitchen management, and food production processes
- Skilled in staff training & development, interviewing, shift management, and team building
- Ability to manage budgets, control costs, and optimize operational efficiency
- Familiarity with hospitality management practices including catering, banquet services, bar operations, and hotel experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and food safety compliance
