Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The maintenance technician is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operational efficiency of all hotel facilities and systems. This leadership role ensures that all engineering functions meet the hotel’s high standards of service, safety, and compliance, leading to optimizing hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of all hotel systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and structural integrity.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and rectify maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety codes.
2. Budgeting and Cost Control:
- Develop and manage the engineering department budget; monitor expenses and implement cost-saving initiatives.
- Oversee the procurement of equipment, materials, and services related to maintenance and repairs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to enhance the lifespan of hotel equipment and systems.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules to minimize disruption to guests and operations.
5. Guest Experience:
- Partner with the front-of-house teams to address guest-related maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Participate in hotel meetings to provide input on engineering-related matters that affect guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire safety protocols and disaster recovery procedures.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel or commercial facility maintenance,
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.
- Familiarity with hotel management software and preventive maintenance systems is a plus.
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or other relevant certifications are preferred.
