| Job Summary |
The Behavioral Interventionist will be responsible for managing Positive Behavior Interventions. |
| Essential Job Functions |
- Facilitate sustainability and expansion of behavioral intervention practices district-wide.
- Provide and/or facilitate quality interventions at all three tiers: universal, secondary and tertiary.
- Oversee data collection, management, and analysis of students within the district.
- Train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to staff who use school-wide data collection systems.
- Collect and monitor school and district data bases to track and analyze student behavioral data including office discipline referrals, suspensions, team implementation, assessment of school wide implementation and school climate survey data.
- Facilitate: strategic problem solving with school teams, effective communications between school leadership team, school, and community stakeholders (faculty, students, staff, parents, and community members at large). Facilitate and guide teams in the planning and development of intervention plans.
- Facilitate scheduled leadership and parent meetings.
- Guide implementation efforts with fidelity (maintain records of discipline data, team, and individual plans)
- Monitor and report on PBIS school team and implementation progress to Director.
- Guide strategic data-based action planning with school teams.
- Link school teams to available resources.
- Ensure that the school teams are meeting regularly and using data for decision making.
- Demonstrates regular and prompt attendance.
- Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business, act ethically, set priorities, and work well under pressure with attention to detail.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by the Director and Superintendent.

| Education and Experience: |
- Bachelor's degree or higher required.
- Proficient in computers and word processing software; or any equivalent combination of training software and experience that provide required knowledge.
- Supports the vision, mission, and beliefs of Hampton County School District.

| Knowledge: |
- Knowledge of research related to PBIS at all 3 tiers universal, secondary, and tertiary.
- Experience planning and conducting professional development training.
- Demonstrated leadership and project organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various groups.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate parent meetings/training sessions.
- Experience in data base decision making.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff).
- Knowledge of general computer applications and their utilization as related to specific tasks and responsibilities.
- Knows how to keep abreast of changes in policy, standards, procedures, and regulations pertinent to personnel and community related functions.
- Thorough knowledge of Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, possession of an excellent vocabulary and mathematical computation.

- Ability to provide instruction to students through explanation, demonstration and/or supervised practice.
- Ability to supervise students and maintain order in various classroom and instructional activities and situations.
- Ability to operate general office equipment in the performance of daily activities.
- Ability to prepare lesson plans, tests, and instructional materials for classroom activities.
- Ability to identify student adjustment and/or academic problems, provide counseling and/or recommend appropriate remedial action to parents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents, District staff, and all other groups involved in the activities of the job.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize daily activities.
- Ability to operate general office equipment in the performance of daily activities.

| Working Conditions: |
- Job requires the operation of standard office equipment.
- Physical demands are restricted to general office activities requiring movement/lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require meeting tight deadlines, considerable attention and working with both adults and students.
