The Hampton Inn by Hilton Arroyo Grande is seeking a dedicated Houseman to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of our hotel’s public and common areas, while also supporting housekeeping and basic maintenance tasks.
Core Responsibilities
- Clean hotel grounds, including trash and cigarette butts
- Run laundry and empty housekeepers’ trash
- Clean lobby and exterior windows
- Maintain dumpster areas, exterior lighting fixtures, public benches, and guestroom doors
- Shampoo and vacuum carpets as assigned
- Turn mattresses and clean sliding glass doors in guestrooms
- Assist the Lead Engineer with small projects and maintenance tasks
- Perform paint touch-ups as required
- Deliver items to rooms (rollaway beds, towels, coffee, etc.) upon front desk requests
- Support basic electrical and plumbing repairs or assist the Lead Engineer
- Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activities immediately; complete incident reports as needed
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, screening, and locks
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
