Position Overview
Hampstead Academy is seeking a passionate and collaborative K–1 Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. This educator will create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally responsive classroom that supports early learners academically, socially, and emotionally.
The ideal candidate embraces inquiry-based learning, values student voice, and is excited to contribute to a dynamic, team-oriented school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement an engaging, inquiry-based curriculum in literacy, math, and integrated content areas
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture rooted in social-emotional learning
- Differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning needs and developmental levels
- Use observation and documentation to inform instruction and communicate student growth
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and school leadership
- Maintain strong, professional communication with families
- Support students’ development as independent, confident learners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Valid teaching certification (any state certification accepted; NH certification or eligibility to transfer preferred but not required)
- Candidates with relevant teaching experience in independent, private, or alternative education settings will also be considered
- Experience teaching in early elementary (Kindergarten and/or Grade 1 preferred)
- Strong understanding of child development and early literacy/numeracy
- Experience with inquiry-based, project-based, or Reggio Emilia–inspired approaches preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
