Position Overview:
The Hampshire Regional School District is seeking a qualified and compassionate tutor to provide individualized academic support to a high school student receiving special education services. Tutoring will take place in a structured, community-based setting (e.g., public library) within the district's catchment area. This is a part-time, hourly position designed to promote student engagement, skill development, and academic success in alignment with the student’s IEP goals.
Responsibilities:
Provide targeted academic instruction and skill reinforcement in accordance with the student’s IEP.
Support executive functioning, written expression, reading comprehension, and math as needed.
Collaborate with the student’s special education team for coordination and progress monitoring.
Maintain a consistent weekly schedule (3–4 hours/week) in a mutually agreed-upon community location.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; degree in education, special education, or related field preferred.
Experience working with high school students with disabilities, including ADHD, specific learning disabilities, or neurological impairments.
Familiarity with IEPs and differentiated instruction.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and flexibly in a community-based setting.
District CORI and fingerprinting check required.
