SALARY: Per Unit A Contract ($53,287-$68,406) JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist students with behavioral and/or social problems that interfere with their adjustment to school and their capacity to access the full benefits of the educational setting/services. This is done through consultation with faculty, staff, families, and administrators as well as direct service to students. In addition, at times a clinical component will be required to address the social and emotional needs of the students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assessment -Conduct assessments and interviews related to special education evaluations. -Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Behavior Intervention Plans. 2. Coordination and Communication of Agency Services, Referrals -Serve as a referral agent to obtain outside assistance when needed. -Assist parents/guardians with the referral process for community-based services in collaboration with the district School Adjustment Counselors. -Establish positive relationships with the home. -Communicate regularly with family members and outside care providers to address behavioral, social, and emotional issues that interfere with the students’ education. 3. Treatment -Supervise and/or conduct individual and/or small group skill development sessions in areas such as self-regulation, social skills, and executive functioning. -Provide ongoing coaching throughout the milieu to students and faculty and/or staff in order to help the students generalize skills. -Provide crisis intervention services to students as requested. 4. Coordination, Communication, Consultation/Coaching -Work cooperatively with all staff related to the programs/services for identified students. -Consult regularly with staff, faculty, and administration regarding students. -Train and coach staff in effective behavioral and/or training practices with students SKILLS AND ABILITIES: •Interpersonal and communication skills when working with parents and staff and for meeting facilitation •Frequent and ongoing note-taking and observation of student classroom performance and behavior •Data collection and analyses •Ability to use data to make informed instructional decisions •Advocacy for student needs and resources •Modeling for staff and students the cooperative process and focus on student strengths, learning style, peers as role models and positive student achievement at individual ability levels •Recognition of an outside-the-box level of thinking and initiative when working with all students •Daily flexibility and quick-thinking skills •Organization and time management skills •Demonstrate knowledge of basic computer skills JOB REQUIREMENTS: -Active licensure as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). -Master’s degree in education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field (preferred). -3-years of experience working in a public or private school system (preferred). -Practices in accordance with federal, state and local laws that relate to students and families i.e., child protection, special education and 504, attendance and confidentiality -SEI Endorsement (preferred) -Valid CORI is required -Suitable “fingerprinting” results are required before employment can begin.
