The Hampden County Sheriff's Office is seeking a compassionate, motivated Recovery Specialist to join the team at the Stonybrook Stabilization and Treatment Center in Ludlow, Massachusetts. This is an opportunity to help individuals on their path toward recovery by providing counseling, case management, crisis intervention, and treatment planning within a structured, supportive environment.


As a Recovery Specialist, you will build meaningful therapeutic relationships, collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team, and play a vital role in helping clients develop the skills and resources needed for long-term success. What You'll Do

As a Recovery Specialist, you will:

  • Manage an assigned caseload and develop individualized treatment and discharge plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Conduct assessments and provide individual support, counseling, and crisis intervention.
  • Facilitate engaging psychoeducational and therapeutic group sessions that promote recovery and personal growth.
  • Build trusting therapeutic relationships while monitoring client progress and responding appropriately to changing behavioral or clinical needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and community partners to support successful treatment outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with agency policies and professional standards.
  • Help foster a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented treatment environment through effective communication, sound clinical judgment, and appropriate de-escalation techniques.


Schedule

Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday, 1:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Candidates must be available to work any shift as operational needs require.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field or certification/licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC, LADC, or equivalent).
  • Strong counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, and case management skills.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic rapport with clients and facilitate individual and group treatment services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Maintain known and accessible telephone number.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, or another related human services field.
  • Preferred: Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
