Join our Hammond 4th-grade team as a Long-Term Substitute Teacher. This is a full-time exempt homeroom teacher position beginning in February 2026 and continuing through to the end of the semester, May 22, 2026. This position entails having a homeroom and teaching English Language Arts for two homerooms in a team-teaching approach alongside another 4th grade teacher.

Long-Term Substitute Teacher responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Adhering to the curriculum plans provided by the regular teacher.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Following established school and classroom procedures and achieving lesson goals.
- Complying with the duty schedule of the teacher being covered, including recess supervision, hallway transitions, lunch duty, and carpool procedures.
- Complying with all school employee regulations and policies at all times.
- Taking attendance.
- Ensuring the classroom and workstations are kept clean and orderly.
- Overseeing normal classroom rhythms and activities, including student engagement, behavior support, and positive classroom management.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, parents, and administration.
- Following school safety plans and procedures.
- Undergraduate degree
- Experience teaching and/or supervising children
- Professional reference able to verify experience supervising children
