Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and case managers. The ideal candidate will have experience in a legal setting, excellent organizational skills, and a genuine interest in making a difference. This role offers a hybrid remote opportunity for the right candidate, with some in-office availability preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing, proofreading, and filing legal documents, including motions, appeals, and correspondence
Manage calendars, schedule hearings, and monitor deadlines
Communicate professionally with clients, government agencies, and medical providers
Organize and maintain client files—both physical and electronic
Request and review medical records, employment histories, and other supporting documentation
Provide general administrative support to attorneys and staff
Qualifications:
Prior experience in a legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal role (disability law or administrative law experience is a plus)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and case management software (experience with [firm’s preferred software] is a bonus)
