Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and quick-learning Legal Assistant to join our growing legal team. This position is ideal for someone with strong drafting and writing skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in producing accurate, polished work product with minimal mistakes.
The ideal candidate will assist primarily with drafting demand letters, estate planning documents, deeds, correspondence, and other legal documents across practice areas including real estate, business law, estate planning, probate, construction law, and related litigation matters. We are looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, a strong communicator, and eager to grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to a collaborative legal team.
Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents including demand letters, deeds, estate planning documents, contracts, correspondence, notices, and other legal filings with precision and clarity
- Assist attorneys with preparation of wills, trusts, transfer documents, business documents, and real estate-related matters
- Maintain and organize legal files, ensuring documents are accurate, complete, and easily retrievable
- Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, client communications, scheduling, and administrative tasks efficiently
- Review documents carefully for formatting, grammar, consistency, and substantive errors before submission
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, title companies, vendors, and opposing counsel
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed to support attorneys and case preparation
- Assist with litigation support tasks including drafting correspondence, organizing discovery, and preparing filings
- Learn firm systems, procedures, and practice area workflows quickly with minimal supervision
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Requirements
- Prior legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal experience preferred
- Strong writing, proofreading, and drafting abilities are required
- Experience drafting demand letters, deeds, estate planning documents, contracts, or similar legal documents preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions carefully, and minimize mistakes in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional client interaction abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general legal document management systems required; experience with Clio, Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar software is a plus
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Professionalism, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
