Job Description:

The Surgical Services Assistant functions as an assistant to the nurses and other staff on the surgery unit. Required to be able to lift patients with using appropriate body mechanics when moving a patient. Required to perform medium to heavy duty cleanliness, sanitation, and orderliness within assigned work areas. Required to utilize the computer to document appropriate charges, order supplies, and other work as needed. Functions as a team member offering suggestions for improvements and listening to requests. Assist in room set up, and department organization. Works with others to determine priorities for the department (is polite, positive and flexible.) Access to protected health information is limited to the minimum necessary to perform the duties of the job.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write and follow directions.
• Ability to correctly input data into computer system
• BLS required
