Veterinary Assistant

Hammocks Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our dedicated and friendly team!

About the Role:

As a Veterinary Assistant at Hammocks, you will play an essential part in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting smooth daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring support, and recovery for surgical and dental procedures
• Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records
• This position is ideal for Veterinary Assistants who enjoy interacting with clients just as much as caring for patients, and who thrive in a collaborative, supportive hospital culture.
• Supporting outpatient care, assisting in exam rooms, animal handling, and preparing for appointments
• Communicating with clients during check-in, reviewing treatment plans, providing discharge instructions, and answering questions with empathy
• Anticipating the needs of the team to help maintain an efficient, positive workflow

Schedule:

• Full-time position
• 4/10 schedule
• Availability Monday–Saturday
• Weekend Requirement:
  • During training: every Saturday
  • After training: every other Saturday

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $16-18 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1 years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting
• Proficiency in:
  • Radiology
  • Surgical setup & assisting
  • Phlebotomy
  • SQ injections
  • Laboratory sample collection
  • Inpatient care
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate
• Cornerstone experience is a plus
