About the Role:
As a Veterinary Assistant at Hammocks, you will play an essential part in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting smooth daily operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with patient preparation, anesthesia monitoring support, and recovery for surgical and dental procedures
- Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records
- This position is ideal for Veterinary Assistants who enjoy interacting with clients just as much as caring for patients, and who thrive in a collaborative, supportive hospital culture.
- Supporting outpatient care, assisting in exam rooms, animal handling, and preparing for appointments
- Communicating with clients during check-in, reviewing treatment plans, providing discharge instructions, and answering questions with empathy
- Anticipating the needs of the team to help maintain an efficient, positive workflow
Schedule:
- Full-time position
- 4/10 schedule
- Availability MondaySaturday
- Weekend Requirement:
- During training: every Saturday
- After training: every other Saturday
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $16-18 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Bonus package: $500 for those with 3 years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 1 years of experience in a veterinary clinical setting
- Proficiency in:
- Radiology
- Surgical setup & assisting
- Phlebotomy
- SQ injections
- Laboratory sample collection
- Inpatient care
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate
- Cornerstone experience is a plus
