What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Pre-Construction position at Hammertime Construction?
We are looking for an experienced construction professional to assist with both pre-construction and mid-construction support on multiple projects.
This role is not design. It is focused on reviewing drawings, reviewing subcontractor proposals, leveling bids, preparing scopes of work, and managing RFIs throughout the project lifecycle.
Pre-Construction Responsibilities
Review architectural, structural, MEP drawings for scope completeness
Review and compare subcontractor proposals against drawings and specs
Prepare detailed bid leveling sheets (identify exclusions, assumptions, and gaps)
Draft clear Scopes of Work for subcontract bidding
Prepare and track RFIs during bidding
Mid-Construction Responsibilities.
Review updated drawings, revisions, and addenda
Identify conflicts, discrepancies, and missing information
Draft and manage RFIs during construction
Assist with scope clarifications and change-related documentation
Help ensure subcontractor scope aligns with issued drawings
Requirements
Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings
Experience with bid leveling and scope review
Experience writing clear RFIs
Strong attention to detail
Experience working with Excel or Google Sheets
Experience with PDF markup tools (Bluebeam or similar preferred)

Hourly role
Work volume will vary by project phase
We will start with a short paid test task before committing long-term
This role has potential for ongoing, long-term work
