Overview
Join our growing food manufacturing team as a Production Associate or Production Lead, where you’ll play a hands-on role in producing high-quality, Alaska-made specialty foods in a fast-paced production kitchen.
This position offers an opportunity to work across all stages of production—from cooking and packaging to fulfillment and inventory—while maintaining strong safety, quality, and efficiency standards. Depending on experience, this role may include leadership responsibilities and coordination with management to keep production running smoothly and on schedule.

Hammers Family Birchoperates a portfolio of Alaska brands, including Kahiltna Birchworks(the preeminent birch syrup producer since 1990) and Alaska Wild Harvest(wild-harvested berry products). All production takes place in our the Palmer based Birch Factory.
Duties
- Produce and package food products including syrups, confections, brittle, and jams
- Operate kitchen equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Label, date, and pack finished goods according to food safety standards
- Fulfill wholesale and direct-to-consumer orders accurately and on time
- Receive ingredients and supplies and assist with inventory organization
- Perform quality checks to ensure products meet safety and quality requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe production environment
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflow efficiency
- Assist with training new team members as needed
Production Lead responsibilities (if applicable):
- Lead daily production activities and oversee Production Associates
- Coordinate with the Production Manager on the production calendar
- Ensure production is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule
- Support basic production reporting and documentation
- Experience
- Prior experience in food production, manufacturing, or commercial kitchens preferred
- Experience working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and quality control practices
- Ability to follow processes while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable performing physically active work and standing for extended periods
- Leadership or supervisory experience required for Production Lead consideration
- Forklift or warehouse experience is a plus but not required
- Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule:Tuesday–Friday, 4 × 10-hour shifts
- Overtime:Built-in (8 hours/week total)
- Pay:
- Production Associate: $18/hour ($20 with OT)
- Production Lead: $22–$25/hour($24-$28 with OT) depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.50 per hour
