- To align the Library Media Center with the mission, goals, and objectives of the school and district
Job Description:
- Collaborates to design and teach approaches towards experiential learning that incorporate inquiry learning, critical thinking and self-assessment
- Collaborates with the district Elementary Technology Integration Specialist, the other elementary library and digital learning specialist, and classroom teachers
- Teaches K-5 students MA DLCS and ISTE standards
- Fosters a creative, flexible environment so that the Library Media Center is an essential part of the learning community
- Evaluates, promotes, and uses existing and emerging technologies to support teaching and learning
- Develops, maintains, and oversees print, digital, and technological resources as part of the school collections
- Teaches media and information literacy skills
- Promotes the ethical use of information: copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property
- Maintains library materials, including circulation, purchasing, and culling
- Position is shared between 2 elementary schools
