Pre-K - 8 School District seeks exceptional candidates for anticipated job openings for 2025-2026 school years:
Part Time Food Service Worker(s):
Candidates must have the following:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent training
- Minimum experience in cafeteria food service as determined by the board
- Knowledge of the principles of food management, nutrition, sanitation and applicable safety regulations
- Ability to perform simple bookkeeping and inventory procedures
- Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status
- Current residency in New Jersey, approved residency waiver or candidate agrees to obtain residency within one year of employment (if a regular district employee)
REPORTS TO:
- Director of Food Services / Head Cook
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares daily school meals according to a planned menu and to standards set forth by the appropriate state/federal agency and the district's food service department, including portion sizes.
- Performs daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and utensils and the sanitary condition of the food preparation and serving areas.
- Operates the Point-of-Sale System and is knowledgeable of the various prices.
- Monitor the free & reduced student list for discrepancies.
- Responsible for completion of accurate daily deposit.
- Encourage and promote the Child Nutrition Program.
- Confers with the supervisor on all matters related to the food service operation.
- Maintains good, friendly relations with other school staff and with lunchroom customers.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 month, part time. 4 - 5 hours per day, TBD at time of hire.
SALARY RANGE: $15.95 - $16.45/hour. Training hours will be included.
