Substitute Teacher 2026-27

Summary
A Substitute Teacher plays a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education within the district by providing quality instruction and support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This position involves following lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for students. The Substitute Teacher will work collaboratively with district staff and administration to uphold educational standards and foster a positive atmosphere for student learning. This position is paid semi-monthly, $13.50 per hour for classified positions and $14.65 per hour for Certified teaching positions.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher, ensuring that the curriculum is followed effectively.
• Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage student behavior and address any issues that arise in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Communicate effectively with students and staff regarding classroom activities and student progress.
• Record and report student attendance and any incidents or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
