Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum requirements.
- Teach a range of math topics, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics, to middle school students.
- Assess student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback and support.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a growth mindset.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and behavior.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in math education.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills through hands-on activities and real-world applications.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress reports.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and events, promoting a positive school culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid Montana teaching certification or license in Mathematics for middle school (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Strong understanding of middle school math curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred but not required.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board Policy.
