Paralegal

Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is currently seeking experienced Paralegals for full-time positions in their litigation defense practice, specializing in insurance defense, including automotive/transportation, premises/bodily injury, first-party property cases & more.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• 5 years’ experience in insurance defense preferred, specifically in the the areas of auto/trucking/transportation and worker's compensation, but will consider candidates with 2-3 years' experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in general liability/ premises/bodily injury and first-party property

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, a team player, and capable of multitasking
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
• Familiarity with state and federal court rules
• Ability to follow client billing guidelines and manage billing entries
• Prior trial experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Locate and contact factual witness
• Draft witness and exhibit lists
• Organize case documents accurately
• Identify and reach out to experts, assist in preparing hearing and trial notebooks, and support during trials
• Conduct initial case investigations, gather facts, draft pleadings and discovery documents (interrogatories, requests for production)
