Position Summary
The Program Manager oversees the daily operations of an OMH-funded supportive housing program serving 49 tenants with mental health needs in Corona, Queens. The role focuses on promoting housing stability, supporting independent living, and ensuring compliance with OMH and HRA regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide supportive housing staff to ensure quality, person-centered service delivery.
- Provide direct case management and crisis intervention.
- Conduct monthly home visits and accompany tenants to medical or community appointments if needed.
- Coordinate with landlords, vendors, and contractors to resolve maintenance or safety issues.
- Monitor rent and utility payments, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure timely reporting.
- Facilitate regular staff team meetings and tenants’ community events.
- Ensure compliance with OMH, HRA and Department of Buildings standards and reporting requirements.
- Facilitate linkages to medical, mental health, and community resources to enhance wellness and independence.
- Work closely with the staff of the state psychiatric centers on facilitating a smooth transition from the centers to a supported housing unit
- Responsible as the key point person for the OMH’s Supported Housing Capital project.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience in supportive housing or mental health services.
- Bilingual in English and Korean (Preferred)/Chinese.
- Knowledge of OMH and HRA regulations and housing program operations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and crisis management skills.
- Valid NYS Driver's License required.
Compensation: $72,000 to $78,000 Annually
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; weekend hours as needed
