Position Summary
 

Hamilton-Madison House (HMH) is the leading provider of behavioral health services for New York City’s Asian community and the second largest provider in the country. HMH serves nearly 1,000 community members through a comprehensive program model that understands and incorporates the strengths of individual cultures and addresses the stigma related to mental illness. Services range from psychological services; personalized recovery-oriented services for individuals with mental illness; recovery programming for addiction in six languages and seven dialects; supportive housing for people with mental health issues; and training and internship opportunities for graduate students in social work, mental health counseling, and psychology. Our team of over 30 full-time and 16 part-time staff speak Cantonese, Mandarin, Fujianese, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, Toishanese, Taiwanese, Spanish, Khmer, and Cambodian. The Facilities Manager is responsible for the division’s facilities (main site, Queens office, and supportive housing) and reports directly to the Assistant Executive Director. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day facility operations for the division including supervision of full-time facility staff and security personnel 
  • Lead the division’s health and safety protocols, including compliance with Covid-19 and other relevant public health guidance 
  • Manage all facility projects, including vendor relations, at the division’s main site and the Queens satellite clinic and supportive housing site 
  • Coordinate work requests with building maintenance, executing projects, managing coverage schedule and other issues related to custodial activities 
  • Maintain record of all facility expenses and working closely with the agency’s administrative teams to ensure timely submission of requests for vendor payments 
  • Perform and assign fire safety drills and completing required actions to ensure all sites are compliant with licensing standards and government regulations 
  • Conduct physical inventory of custodial equipment and supplies; order and distribute supplies; research new products and meet with vendors as appropriate. 
  • Coordinate various activities including moving furniture, setting up facilities for special events, and other activities as assigned 
  • Create and implement department and agency policies, procedures, and workflows designed to improve behavioral health facility operations 
  • Work collaboratively with program leaders and clinical teams to implement solutions to barriers in care coordination and service delivery 
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory and contractual guidelines to ensure program compliance 
  • Prepare the program for regular auditing from government funders and regulators 
  • Remain on-call for emergency situations as assigned 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in relevant field required; Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Certificate of Fitness for Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems required (S-95 Certification) required  
  • Certificate of Fitness for Fire and Emergency Drill Conductor (F-07 Certification) required
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible custodial and/or grounds maintenance experience 
  • Minimum three years of supervisory or leadership experience 
  • Proven ability to work with high-performing, cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience in urban, underserved communities, particularly communities of color
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to maintain efficient administrative and operational systems
  • Results-oriented and self-directed, with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills, including professional phone demeanor and direct engagement with clients, families, government agencies, and staff
  • Cultural proficiency and sensitivity in diverse environments

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Flexibility with work hours and emergency response  

Compensation$70,000 - $72,000 per annum. Commensurate with qualifications and experience

HoursMonday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week
