JOB SUMMARY: Supports the financial operations of Hamilton Healthcare System by preparing consolidated internal and external financial statements, performing general ledger reconciliations, and analyzing financial information in accordance with Critical Access Hospital (CAH) standards and regulatory requirements. Responsible for assisting with monthly and annual budget preparation, financial close processes, and maintenance of accurate accounting records.
A. Education: College Graduate (Bachelor) or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
B. Personal Job-Related Skills: Operation of ten-key adding machine/calculator. Familiar with operating personal computers and general clerical duties. Strong Excel skills required. Database skills (i.e., SQL) highly preferred. Experience with Multiview accounting software and Cerner systems preferred.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required
D. Experience: Experience in accounting, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting. Experience in a Critical Access Hospital environment preferred. Experience with Multiview and Cerner strongly preferred.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, sitting and standing. Some bending, stooping and reaching is required with lifting of items up to a weight of 20 pounds. Must be able to comprehend and follow routine written or verbal instructions or directions. Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
