School Monitor - Special Education

HFM BOCES is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a School Monitor at its Gloversville Middle School site. The School Monitor plays an important role in maintaining a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Supervising students during arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the school day.
• Monitoring hallways, common areas, and school activities to promote student safety and appropriate behavior.
• Assisting with the implementation of behavior management strategies and providing support to students as needed.
• Working collaboratively with district safety personnel to address safety concerns and support school security efforts.
• Monitoring and assisting at school events and activities.
• Providing support to classrooms and instructional staff as requested.
• Collaborating closely with BOCES administration, school personnel, and support staff to ensure a positive educational environment.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive school environment.
• Experience working with school-aged children preferred.

Fulton County Civil Service

This is a Non-Competitive Civil Service position. Applicants must be a resident of Hamilton, Fulton or Montgomery County in order to be considered for this position.
